The inspiration for this festival dates back to ancient history. The Silk Road was an exchange of cultures, ideas, art and music connecting over 40 countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa by land and by sea. The Silk Road has existed for thousands of years and enriched the countries it passed through; cultivating a mutual understanding, tolerance, and respect. This event featured music and dance performances from the various cultures that make up the Silk Road. Professionals, as well as children appeared on the Oceana Theater stage in the heart of Brooklyn, New York to sufficiently educate the audience about the art and culture of countries such as Azerbaijan, China, Georgia, India, Mongolia, Turkey and others.
